The Skies Over Copenhagen

Today one of my closest friends left for her home St. Petersburg, Russia. The trip is very short, but that still made me feel happy for her and even slightly jealous.

One of her layovers will happen in Copenhagen, a city impossible not to fall in love with. Once she told me that just thinking about spending two whole hours in a city she’s longed for since college fills her up with a very special kind of joy. I am absolutely with her on that.

“The amount of time spent in a certain place doesn’t matter. What matters is the way you feel about it. Did you know that Wings Of Desire was translated as The Skies Over Berlin in USSR? So, this is what the skies over Berlin look like, was my only thought when I went there for the first time,” she said to me before she left for the airport. “Now, what will it look like over the city of Anderson and Kierkegaard?” she wondered. “Really, that’s the only thing I’m concerned about… “

Nastia was born in Russia, and probably that's the reason why she is so inexplicably attracted to the coldest parts of the world, such as Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Alaska and Canada. The more it snows out there - the better. Although would she be even thinking about all that cold if she hadn't first enjoyed Turkey, Bulgaria and Ukraine?
